It was not clear from No.3 whether or

not the Board of Directors approved the conditions of sale, and I therefore spoke to the Secretary. He read over to me their letter to the Hong Kong Committee and has now sent a copy of the relevant portion. It will

be seen from this that the Directors have

decided not to proceed with the purchase of this land. Apparently this decision is final,

the Hong Kong Committee being only left to

approve the form on the letter to the Colonial

of

Govt. In the circumstances, therefore, our

approval of the conditions of sale is of no

practical importance.

I submit draft to Hong Kong.
